In our Ecological Reserve you will find the natural and cultural magic of our island... forests, wildlife and vegetation at their fullest expression.
"Puquelinhue" Ecological Reserve was created in 1996 and covers 75 hectares of native forest. Puquelinhue main purpose is to the natural conservation and education. In "Puquelinhue" you will find a wildlife and vegetation unique to our island of Chiloe...Chucaos, Pudus, Black Woodpeckers, the playful Monito del Monte and an uncountable animal species...our forest is diverse...Coigues, Canelos, Manios, Melis, Tepuales, Cipreses...darkness at noon? is possible in the forest of Puquelinhue.
Our mission is to fulfill your expectations of getting to know the surroundings of Chiloé, our mythology...the "trauco" and "invunche", our wildlife wealth...what about a night expedition to search for the Monito del Monte?...the Black Woodpecker nesting grounds?...a lunch with the Chucaos of the forest?... we will follow the Trauco...or He will follow us.Whatever you want...it is waiting for you in Puquelinhue!
